(2) A person—
a. shall be designated a candidate for the office of Vice-President by a Presidential candidate before a Presidential election;
b. shall not be qualified to be a candidate for the office of Vice-President unless he has the qualifications specified in section 41.

b. perform such functions as may be assigned to him by the President.

- EnglishA presidential candidate must be an Egyptian born to Egyptian parents, and neither he or his parents or his spouse may have held any other nationality. He must enjoy civil and political rights, must have performed the military service or have been exempted therefrom by law, and shall not be less than forty calendar years of age on the day of commencing candidacy registration. A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if –
(a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth;
(b) he has attained the age of thirty-five years;
(c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and
(d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. (Sec. 131)

a. is a citizen by birth or descent;
b. has been ordinarily resident in Zambia;
c. is at least thirty-five years old;
d. is a registered voter;
e. has obtained, as a minimum academic qualification, a grade twelve certificate or its equivalent;
f. is fluent in the official language;
g. has paid that person’s taxes or has made arrangements, satisfactory to the appropriate tax authority, for the payment of the taxes;
h. declares that person’s assets and liabilities, as prescribed;
i. pays the prescribed election fee on, or before, the date fixed for the delivery of nomination papers; and
j. is supported by at least one hundred registered voters from each Province.

- English1. The Vice-President shall be an auxiliary office of the President of the Republic in the exercise of his executive functions.

The Vice-President shall substitute the President of the Republic when he is absent from the country, unable to perform his duties and in any situations in which he is temporarily unable to perform his functions and they shall, in these circumstances, be responsible for the daily management of executive functions.
