Status of International Law
- EnglishThe Republic of Estonia may not enter into international treaties which are in conflict with the Constitution.
When laws or other legislation of Estonia are in conflict with an international treaty ratified by the Riigikogu, provisions of the international treaty apply. (Sec. 123) - EstonianEesti Vabariik ei sõlmi välislepinguid, mis on vastuolus põhiseadusega.
Kui Eesti seadused või muud aktid on vastuolus Riigikogu poolt ratifitseeritud välislepingutega, kohaldatakse välislepingu sätteid. (§ 123)

- EnglishIf the Constitutional Court referred to [the matter] by the President of the Republic or by a Deputy, has declared that an international engagement contains a clause contrary to the Constitution, the authorization to ratify it or to approve it may only intervene after the revision of the Constitution.
A law authorizing the ratification or the approval of an international engagement may not be promulgated and enter into force when it has been declared nonconforming to the Constitution. (2) With a view to participating in the European Union as a Member State and on the basis of an international treaty, Hungary may, to the extent necessary to exercise the rights and fulfil the obligations deriving from the Founding Treaties, exercise some of its competences arising from the Fundamental Law jointly with other Member States, through the institutions of the European Union. Exercise of competences under this paragraph shall comply with the fundamental rights and freedoms provided for in the Fundamental Law and shall not limit the inalienable right of Hungary to determine its territorial unity, population, form of government and state structure.

(2) Magyarország az Európai Unióban tagállamként való részvétele érdekében nemzetközi szerződés alapján – az alapító szerződésekből fakadó jogok gyakorlásához és kötelezettségek teljesítéséhez szükséges mértékig – az Alaptörvényből eredő egyes hatásköreit a többi tagállammal közösen, az Európai Unió intézményei útján gyakorolhatja. Status of International Law
- English1. Any international agreement entered into after the commencement of this Constitution shall form part of the law of the Republic if so provided by an Act of Parliament.
2. Binding international agreements entered into before the commencement of this Constitution shall continue to bind the Republic unless otherwise provided by an Act of Parliament.
3. Customary international law, unless inconsistent with this Constitution or an Act of Parliament, shall form part of the law of the Republic. (Sec. 211)
