(a) he is a citizen of Ghana, has attained the age of twenty-one years and is a registered voter;
(b) he is resident in the constituency for which he stands as a candidate for election to Parliament or has resided there for a total period of not less than five years out of the ten years immediately preceding the election for which he stands, or he hails from that constituency; and
(c) he has paid all his taxes or made arrangements satisfactory to the appropriate authority for the payment of his taxes.

A person convicted of a felony by a state or national government court is ineligible to be a member of Congress. The Chamber of Senators will be composed of one hundred twenty eight senators [feminine] and senators [masculine], of whom, in each State and in the City of México, two will be elected following the principle of relative majority vote and one will be assigned to the first minority. For these effects, the political parties must register a list with two formulations [formulas] of candidates. The office of senator of the first minority [senaduría de primera minoría] will be assigned to the formulation of candidates that heads [encabeca] the list of the political party that, by itself, has occupied [ocupado] the second place in the number of votes in the entity concerned.
The thirty-two offices of senator [senadurías] remaining will be elected following the principle of proportional representation, through the system of lists voted in a sole national plurinomial circumscription conformed in accordance with the principle of parity, and headed alternately between women and men each elective period. The law will establish the regulations and formulas for these effects.
The Chamber of Senators will be renewed in its totality each six years. (Art. 56) - Spanish
La Cámara de Senadores se integrará por ciento veintiocho senadoras y senadores, de los cuales, en cada Estado y en la Ciudad de México, dos serán elegidos según el principio de votación mayoritaria relativa y uno será asignado a la primera minoría. Para estos efectos, los partidos políticos deberán registrar una lista con dos fórmulas de candidatos. La senaduría de primera minoría le será asignada a la fórmula de candidaturas que encabece la lista del partido político que, por sí mismo, haya ocupado el segundo lugar en número de votos en la entidad de que se trate.
Las treinta y dos senadurías restantes serán elegidas según el principio de representación proporcional, mediante el sistema de listas votadas en una sola circunscripción plurinominal nacional, conformadas de acuerdo con el principio de paridad, y encabezadas alternadamente entre mujeres y hombres cada periodo electivo. Subject to the provisions of section 59 of this Constitution, a person shall be qualified to be nominated as a Senator by the King acting in accordance with the advice of the Council of State or designated by a Principal Chief as a Senator in his place if, and shall not be so qualified unless, at the date of his nomination or designation, he—
a. is a citizen of Lesotho; and
b. is able to speak and, unless incapacitated by blindness or other physical cause, to read and write either the Sesotho or English languages well enough to take an active part in the proceedings of the Senate.
2. Subject to the provisions of section 59 of this Constitution, a person shall be qualified to be elected as a member of the National Assembly if, and shall not be so qualified unless, at the date of his nomination for election, he—
a. is a citizen of Lesotho; and
b. is registered in some constituency as an elector in elections to the National Assembly and is not disqualified from voting in such elections; and
c. is able to speak and, unless incapacitated by blindness or other physical cause, to read and write either the Sesotho or English language well enough to take an active part in the proceedings of the National Assembly. (Sec. 58)

(a) the constituencies for the general seats shall be single member territorial constituencies and the members to fill such seats shall be elected by direct and free vote in accordance with law;
(b) each Province shall be a single constituency for all seats reserved for women which are allocated to the respective Provinces under clause (3);
(c) the constituency for all seats reserved for non-Muslims shall be the whole country;
(d) members to the seats reserved for women which are allocated to a Province under clause (3) shall be elected in accordance with law through proportional representation system of political parties’ lists of candidates on the basis of total number of general seats secured by each political party from the Province concerned in the National Assembly:
Provided that for the purpose of this paragraph the total number of general seats won by a political party shall include the independent returned candidate or candidates who may duly join such political party within three days of the publication in the official Gazette of the names of the returned candidates; and
(e) members to the seats reserved for non-Muslims shall be elected in accordance with law through proportional representation system of political parties’ lists of candidates on the basis of total number of general seats won by each political party in the National Assembly:
Provided that for the purpose of this paragraph the total number of general seats won by a political party shall include the independent returned candidate or candidates who may duly join such political party within three days of the publication in the official Gazette of the names of the returned candidates. (ب) ہر ایک صوبہ خواتین کے لئے مخصوص تمام نشستوں کے لئے جو متعلقہ صوبوں کے لئے شق (٣) کے تحت متعین کی گئی ہیں واحد حلقۂ انتخاب ہو گا؛
(ج) غیر مسلموں کے لئے مخصوص تمام نشستوں کے لئے حلقۂ انتخاب پورا ملک ہو گا؛
(د) خواتین کی مخصوص نشستوں کے لئے جو کسی صوبے کے لئے شق (٣) کے تحت مختص کی گئی ہیں ارکان قانون کے مطابق سیاسی جماعتوں کی امیدواران کی فہرست سے متناسب نمائندگی کے نظام کے ذریعے قومی اسمبلی میں متعلقہ صوبہ سے ہر ایک سیاسی جماعت کی طرف سے حاصل کردہ عام نشستوں کی کل تعداد کی بنیاد پر منتخب کی جائیں گی:
مگر شرط یہ ہے کہ اس پیرا کی غرض کے لئے کسی سیاسی جماعت کی طرف سے حاصل شدہ عام نشستوں کی کل تعداد میں وہ کامیاب آزاد امیدوار یا امیدواروں شامل ہوں گے جو سرکاری جریدے میں کامیاب امیدواروں کے ناموں کی اشاعت سےتین یوم کے اندر باضابطہ طور پر مذکورہ سیاسی جماعت میں شامل ہو جائیں۔
(ہ) غیر مسلموں کی مخصوص نشستوں کے لئے ارکان قانون کے مطابق سیاسی جماعتوں کے امیدواروں کی فہرست سے متناسب نمائندگی کے نظام کے ذریعے قومی اسمبلی میں ہر ایک سیاسی جماعت کی طرف سے حاصل کردہ عام نشستوں کی کل تعداد کی بنیاد پر منتخب کئے جائیں گے:
