Iran, Islamic Republic of
- EnglishParties, societies, political or professional associations, as well as religious societies, whether Islamic or pertaining to one of the recognized religious minorities, are permitted provided they do not violate the principles of independence, freedom, national unity, the criteria of Islam, or the basis of the Islamic Republic. No one may be prevented from participating in the aforementioned groups, or be compelled to participate in them. (Art. 26)

Pakistan
- English(1) Every citizen shall have the right to form associations or unions, subject to any reasonable restrictions imposed by law in the interest of sovereignty or integrity of Pakistan, public order or morality.
(2) Every citizen, not being in the service of Pakistan, shall have the right to form or be a member of a political party, subject to any reasonable restrictions imposed by law in the interest of the sovereignty or integrity of Pakistan and such law shall provide that where the Federal Government declares that any political party has been formed or is operating in a manner prejudicial to the sovereignty or integrity of Pakistan, the Federal Government shall, within fifteen days of such declaration, refer the matter to the Supreme Court whose decision on such reference shall be final.

(٢) ہر شہری کو، جو ملازمتِ پاکستان میں نہ ہو، پاکستان کی حاکمیت اعلی سالمیت کے مفاد میں قانون کے ذریعے عائد کردہ معقول پابندیوں کے تابع کوئی سیاسی جماعت بنانے یا اس کا رکن بننے کا حق ہوگا اور مذکورہ قانون میں قرار دیا جائے گا کہ جبکہ وفاقی حکومت یہ اعلان کر دے کہ کوئی سیاسی جماعت ایسے طریقے پر بنائی گئی ہے یا عمل کر رہی ہے جو پاکستان کی حاکمیتِ اعلی یا سالمیت کے لیے مضر ہے تو وفاقی حکومت مذکورہ اعلان سے پندرہ دن کے اندر معاملہ عدالتِ عظمٰی کے حوالے کر دے گی جس کا مذکورہ حوالے پر فیصلہ قطعی ہوگا۔

- English(1) Every citizen is free to make political choices, which includes the right—
(a) to form, or participate in forming, a political party;
(b) to participate in the activities of, or recruit members for, a political party; or
(c) to campaign for a political party or cause.
(2) Every citizen has the right to free, fair and regular elections based on universal suffrage and the free expression of the will of the electors for—
(a) any elective public body or office established under this Constitution; or
(b) any office of any political party of which the citizen is a member.
(3) Every adult citizen has the right, without unreasonable restrictions—
(a) to be registered as a voter;
(b) to vote by secret ballot in any election or referendum; and
(c) to be a candidate for public office, or office within a political party of which the citizen is a member and, if elected, to hold office. (Art. 38) - Swahili(1) Kila raia yuko huru kufanya chaguzi za kisiasa, ambazo ni pamoja na haki-
