Status of the Constitution

    Every citizen is held to respect the Constitution, the laws and regulations as well as the institutions and the symbols of the Republic. (Art. 53)

    يقع على كل مواطن احترام الدستور والقوانين والأحكام إلى جانب المؤسسات ورموز الجمهورية. (المادة 53)

    Tout citoyen est tenu de respecter la Constitution, les lois et règlements ainsi que les institutions et les symboles de la République. (Art. 53)

Status of the Constitution

    If the Supreme Court, referred to [the matter] by the President of the Republic or by the President of the National Assembly, has declared that an international engagement contains a clause contrary to the Constitution, the authorization of ratification may only intervene after the revision of the Constitution. (Art. 224)

    إذا أعلنت المحكمة العليا التي يحيل إليها رئيس الجمهورية أو رئيس المجلس الوطني التزاماً دولياً يتضمن شرطاً يتعارض مع الدستور، لا يجوز المصادقة عليه إلا بعد مراجعة الدستور. (المادة 224)

    Si la Cour Suprême, saisie par le Président de la République ou par le Président de l'Assemblée Nationale, a déclaré qu'un engagement international comporte une clause contraire à la Constitution, l'autorisation de ratification ne peut intervenir qu'après la révision de la Constitution. (Art. 224)
