The human person is sacred and inviolable.
Every individual has the right to the life, to the liberty, to the security and to the integrity of his person. (Art. 1) - French
La personne humaine est sacrée et inviolable.
Tout individu a droit à la vie, à la liberté, à la sécurité et à l'intégrité de sa personne. (Art. 1)

No one shall be submitted to torture, nor to inhuman, cruel, degrading or humiliating acts [sevices] or treatment.
Every individual, every agent of the State who is found culpable of such acts, either on his own initiative, or on instruction, shall be punished in accordance with the law. (Art. 3) - French
Nul ne sera soumis à la torture, ni à des sévices ou traitements inhumains, cruels, dégradants ou humiliants.
Tout individu, tout agent de l'Etat qui se rendrait coupable de tels actes, soit de sa propre initiative, soit sur instruction, sera puni conformément à la loi. (Art. 3)
